On November 11, we had the scouts annual Raingutter Regatta Races. This year was a bit different for a few reasons.
1. We are now in Wisconsin so we were not with the Clinton scouts (sad face).
2. Trevor is in his first year of scouts so we had both Ethan and Trevor participating.
3. With the new pack came new things/rules. There were 80+ boys that raced (compared to the 14 we had in Clinton), NO touching the boat (even if it tipped over, you had to try to blow it back up), and the younger boys (Tiger and Bear levels) raced a catamaran, whereas, the older boys (Bear and Weblos) raced the regular boat.
Both boys worked hard on their boats and had fun doing it. Trevor raced twice but lost both so he was out of the running after those races. Ethan lost his first race, but then continued to win and ended up taking 4th place. Both had fun and had smiles on their faces at the end of the night. Great job, boys!!

Crazy Sock Day - 2013
The boys had crazy sock day today at school as part of Red Ribbon Week. I love that they like to be "silly" every once in awhile.

New Colors & Decorations
When we bought this house, we knew right away that some things we needed to do were change carpeting and update some of the painting. The carpeting we had done just a few weeks after moving in. However, the painting took a bit longer to get scheduled and completed, but it's finally done and we love it. Now, it is beginning to feel like "our home" and is going to come together nicely once we get some new decor to go with the colors.
One area that we have already worked on is our entry way. This is what it used to look like....
And this is what we found. A very similar table, but different color! I love it. And we found the "HOME" sign as well, which adds just a little something to it... Now all we have to do is find a picture or mirror or something to put on the wall above the table and we'll be all set (for this area of the house anyway). We've got lots more to do, but this is a good start.

I don't have the "face on" picture of the entry way, but you get the picture...color wise. Well, after the painting was done, the picture below is what it looked like. Ok, but the color of the table did NOTHING for the walls. So, off we went to find something new...

In addition, we found something for above our fireplace mantle. A picture that Rick said reminded him of Utah. It fits perfectly color-wise (and even size). Once we have something to go around it we will love this area as well!
This is how we started.
and now... in progress... we have this...
(please don't mind the terrible picture taking. I had Cooper in my arms and didn't pick up toys, and even realized after taking the pictures that cooper had touched the lens so there are blurry finger prints in the photos.
So... we have a long way to go, but we are starting......
T is Trains
Cooper likes... ummmm loves.... things that have engines. Lawn mowers, tractors, airplanes and the latest is trains. He is obsessed with Thomas the Train and would watch it all day long on the TV, computer, iPad or any other device capable of streaming video if I would let him. But you know, he's not all about high-tech things and is also perfectly fine with the good old wooden trains and tracks. Many days he can be found doing this....
And not only the wooden trains, but even this train that I used to play with when I was a child (it is just "a few" years old)....but he loves it!

A is for Airplanes
Cooper could not get enough airplanes in his hands on this particular day. They were something new from Grandma (did I mention that that kids love being spoiled by their grandmas and grandpas now that we live much closer??) This was a "just because Cooper was the only one shopping with us" type of treat! He loves them and could not get enough of them in his arms...

Packer Family Night 2013
Being back in Green Bay has offered us a lot of fun activities that in the past we just haven't been around to do. One of these events was Packer Family Night. Each year, before the official pre-season begins for the NFL, the Green Bay Packers have an open night of activities at Lambeau Field. There are festivities in the parking lots, atrium and inside the stadium while the players scrimmage. Jerseys are given away at the end of the scrimmage, there are fireworks, and it's just a fun night for families to attend.
This year, Rick's brother's friend once again organized getting a lot of tickets and having a place to "hang out" as a tail-gating event in the afternoon. It was a lot of fun, the kids had a blast and we will definitely participate again in the future. The highlight (or almost highlight) of the night was when Trevor just about got a Stark's jersey. All night he had been watching Starks and saying that he was his favorite Packer player. Why? Not sure, but for this season he really likes to watch Starks. When they give away the jerseys, they announce a certain section of the stadium, then the row and finally the seat. None of the other jerseys were in our section, but they got to the Starks jersey and sure enough the section called was our section. Trevor's eyes lit up like I have never seen before. Then they announced the row and it was ONE row down from us. YES, just one! UGH.... but for a brief moment, we thought it was going to be his lucky night! Maybe next year..
