Packer Family Night 2013

Being back in Green Bay has offered us a lot of fun activities that in the past we just haven't been around to do.  One of these events was Packer Family Night.  Each year, before the official pre-season begins for the NFL, the Green Bay Packers have an open night of activities at Lambeau Field.   There are festivities in the parking lots, atrium and inside the stadium  while the players scrimmage.  Jerseys are given away at the end of the scrimmage, there are fireworks, and it's just a fun night for families to attend. 

This year, Rick's brother's friend once again organized getting a lot of tickets and having a place to "hang out" as a tail-gating event in the afternoon.   It was a lot of fun, the kids had a blast and we will definitely participate again in the future.    The highlight (or almost highlight) of the night was when Trevor just about got a Stark's jersey.  All night he had been watching Starks and saying that he was his favorite Packer player.  Why?  Not sure, but for this season he really likes to watch Starks.  When they give away the jerseys, they announce a certain section of the stadium, then the row and finally the seat.   None of the other jerseys were in our section, but they got to the Starks jersey and sure enough the section called was our section.  Trevor's eyes lit up like I have never seen before.  Then they announced the row and it was ONE row down from us.  YES, just one!  UGH.... but for a brief moment, we thought it was going to be his lucky night!  Maybe next year..

His Right of Passage

It was a couple years ago when Ethan first got the chance to help Rick with cutting the lawn....he was just about 7 years old.   Well, it must be a right of passage in the Heck household that once you are 7 (or almost 7) it is your time to start helping with the lawn.  And since Trevor falls into the category, it was his turn to help.   

He was excited.   And a little hesitant.  I guess I would be too if for 7 years you were always hearing, "no, no, don't touch that", "owie", or "No touch, it's HOT!".  And now, all of a sudden, you not only get to touch it, you get to walk behind it and run the thing!  What is up with that?!?  But Rick walked him through the different controls, showed him what they do and off they went.  

Such a big day in a little boys life!  You did a great job, Trevor!!

Can You See Us?

On the first day of school, Ethan and Trevor wanted to wear some of their new school clothes; however, there were a couple outfits that I said they had to wait till the second day to wear.  I wanted them to look respectable, but not stick out like crazy bright, eye-blinding kids!  I wanted others to like them, of course, and if a kid can't come up to you because they are blinded by the brightness of your clothes, well.... that's not a good way to make friends on the first day at a new school.  Right? 

But on the 2nd day, all holds were off.  They were allowed to wear what they wanted and both knew EXACTLY what they wanted to wear.   Now, before I go ahead with the picture, please put on your sunglasses and beware of the brightness that could be blinding if you don't.

 

Whew.... bright boys!   I don't think their teachers will miss them in a crowd today!!

 

Cooper was feeling a bit camera happy this morning and wanted to make sure he was part of the school morning!
