Random June 2011 Pictures

Before printing out the blog book, I decided to go back and make sure I didn't miss anything since the blog was a hit or miss event during this time in our lives.... it is now January 31, 2014 and I am just getting to making the 2011 book.... bad, bad blogger!

Here are some random ones from June 2011

End of the School Year Activities

Ethan's school will do periodic field trips during the year; however, the end of the year is there main time for all the kids to do different field trips.  This year, Ethan's kindergarten class went to the Conservation Department where they learned all kinds of neat stuff and were able to fish the afternoon away in the stocked pond.  I was able to help with both of these field trips this year and Trevor even came along to the first one being that it was just a 1/2 day field trip.

Their next field trip was to the Harry S. Truman Dam, the Swinging Bridge and the Waste Water Treatment Facility here in town.  Trevor stayed by a friends house for this day and I have to admit, it was so nice to have the day with Ethan!  Not very often do I get time with just him and I really enjoyed being able to concentrate on him and the fun he was having.

I did it...I REALLY DID IT!!!!!!!

What is so exciting that deserves that many exclamation points, you ask??

I have Finally. Finished. Our. April. Vacation. Blog. Post.

Complete with text (lots of text), pictures (lot of pictures) and probably some mistakes as well.  I know there are some things that I did not put in there or have already forgotten about, but I will make my way back to it someday.  Yes, someday.  It has taken me FOR - EVER to do the post due to the number of pictures that I knew I would want to put in.  And then... the formatting of the single pictures.  Don't even get me started!!  If there is one reason I dislike blogger, it is that reason.

But, enough of that!  If you want to see additional pictures and read all about what we did.... click on this link

Whew.... I can not tell you how much "lighter" I feel now that the vacation post is done.  Now I can get on to all the other posts that I am behind on.  I told myself that I was NOT going to do the other ones until I finished this one - a weird type of motivation for myself!

Good night.

My Baby....

This is my baby for now and man do I love this kid!!

(although you can get a glimpse of the "new baby" that will turn this house upside down).

Brotherly Love

Just a couple more days of "Just the Two of Us" for Ethan and Trevor.... and by these smiles they are enjoying every minute of Mom's sentimental softness towards them and all the good (and not so good) things they are getting into!

To My Boys

Dear Ethan & Trevor -

In just a couple of days your life will change once again - just like it will for Daddy and I - as we bring another little person into our family.  For almost 5 years it has been just been the four of us and I wanted to take some time to tell you a few things before our lives, as we know them, change.

First, and most importantly, and if you read nothing else of this post, read the next sentence.  I love you more than words can ever express and nothing, NOTHING can change that.  You are my babies and no one will ever change that!

You two are such a joy to have around and make me laugh each and every day!!  Ethan, I love your determination to do things perfectly, your ability to laugh at the drop of a hat, and your outgoing personality.  Trevor, I love your belly laugh (it is absolutely contagious).  I love your sensitivity towards others and animals, and your tenacity when you put your mind to something.  Both of you are your own person and I love that about you, yet at the same time, you can do so many things together, as brothers and as friends.  Daddy and I hope that the friendship you share now only continues to grow as the years pass and you get older.  There is nothing better than a good relationship with your siblings and so we hope and pray that you continue to love, respect and enjoy each other as you do now (most of the time anyway).

Now, once your little brother or sister is born, it may seem that the time we spend together changes.  And it will for a little bit, but know that the love I have for you will not change one bit.   Mom and Dad have so much love in our hearts and this new brother or sister will put even more love in our lives.  Ethan you are already a big brother so you know the drill of being a big helper, but Trevor, you will now learn what it's like to be a big brother, too.  And I have no doubt that both of you will do a fantastic job of being a big brother to this new little person.

You both give me a reason to get up and be a better person each day.  I love, absolutely love, being your mom.  You make me smile.  You make me laugh.  You allow me to love unconditionally.  Your smiles warm my heart!  You teach me to take things slower.  You teach me to cherish the simple things in life.  I love watching you learn.  I love watching you play.  I love watching you grow into loving, caring boys.  I love hearing you giggle.  I love seeing the peacefulness you have when you're sleeping.  I love your tenderness, your compassion, your loving spirits.   Plain and simple - I love you both!

The minute you entered my life, you had my heart wrapped around your little finger, much like this new little baby will.  But have no fear, I have plenty of room in my heart for all of you!   Thank you for being the wonderful little boys you are, and thank you for being the wonderful big brothers that I know you WILL be very soon!

I love you,
Mom

Cut for $0.25

Boy oh boy... if only labor could always be this reasonable.

Ethan wanted to help Rick cut the lawn today.  During their walk around the yard and in between the "teaching" moments, Rick mentioned to Ethan that this is something he can do when he gets a little older to make some $$ around a neighborhood (or even here at our house).  He immediately picked up on that and asked if he could cut the whole back yard and get a quarter for it.  A quarter for the whole back yard??  SOLD!  And you're HIRED!

2011 T-ball Season

Ethan was once again in T-ball this summer.  Trevor wants to play so badly, but he is not old enough yet!  Next year, little man. Next year.  But this year, it was Ethan's activity for the summer.   Mr. Potter is the coach for his team and he is really great with the kids.  They have fun and it is showing when they get out on the field each week.

Not Big Enough?

Ethan and Rick decided to have a contest to see who could catch a wiffle ball in their mouth.  Needless to say, even though they both talk enough, their mouths were not big enough to catch the ball.  But it sure was fun watching them try!
